If you have not already done it, it’s time to get started with Get started with Microsoft Dynamics 365 for Finance and Operations, Business edition. Now, if you reside in a country where it has not been released yet, like me, then you will probably not be able to use your email address to create an account. But there’s an easy alternative. By following these steps you can create a trial Office 365 account and use that.
So here we go…
In order for you to get started, you will need an Office 365 subscription and then enable the Microsoft Dynamics 365 for Finance and Operations, Business edition in Office 365.
Create an Office 365 trial
Open your browser and navigate to this page: https://products.office.com/en/compare-all-microsoft-office-products?tab=2
Make sure you select the For Business tab:
Then scroll down until you see the following link:
http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/p/?LinkID=510938
On the sign up page enter the following details to create a trial subscription for Office 365 Business Premium Trial:
Make sure you select United States as your country. Enter your details and click Next.
On the next page enter the following details:
The domain you enter here will be the domain for the email addresses you will create. Enter the required information and select Create my account.
You are asked to enter a phone number to verify you are not a robot:
Select Text me and then enter the confirmation code and select Next.
When your account is created you will see the following screen:
Select the arrow to continue. You will be redirected to the Office 365 landing page. It can take a couple of minutes before all services are ready.
Select the Admin button at the left bottom.
Select the Users:
Enable Dynamics 365 for Finance
To enable Dynamics 365 for your user, select your user in the Users:
Select the Edit button after your Product Licenses:
You will notice the following enabled options:
Go back to the landing page for your Office 365:
Select Dynamics 365:
In the page that opens, scroll down and select Dynamics 365 for Financials, Learn more:
Select Get Started:
In the next page, enter the email address you created for this trial account:
Select Confirm:
Then select Start:
The setup can take a couple of minutes.
After it has completed you will see the following:
You are now in Dynamics 365 for Financials. You can take the Get Started tour, or close the wizard and start to work in the application.
If you return to the Admin page for Office 365, select Users and then your user (as described above), you will notice the product licenses are updated:
You can now create additional users and assign them the Dynamics 365 for Financials for IWs license and then they can also make use of the application.
