Quick Tip: What’s in Business Central Update 28.3

Microsoft has started rolling out Business Central 28.3, the latest minor update for the 2026 Release Wave 1.

As with every minor update, 28.3 delivers a combination of new features, improvements, localization updates, and hotfixes. Here are some of the highlights.

Sales Order Agent reaches General Availability

The Sales Order Agent continues to mature and now supports:

Running multiple Sales Order Agents per company.
Smarter item matching.
Improved relevance filtering.
A streamlined setup experience.

These enhancements make the agent even more practical for organizations processing larger numbers of incoming sales requests. You can find more details in the Business Central 28.3 release notes.

Try the Payables Agent for free

If you’ve been waiting to evaluate the Payables Agent, getting started has become much easier. Microsoft now allows you to process up to 50 invoices before configuring an email inbox, making it simple to explore the feature in a sandbox or demonstration environment.

Expense Agent keeps improving

The Expense Agent receives several welcome improvements:

Support for Danish, French, and Spanish.
German support coming soon.
Assign projects directly from the Expense Agent web application.

These additions continue Microsoft’s investment in AI-assisted expense management. More information can be found in the 28.3 release notes.

Manage Per-Tenant Extensions from the Admin Center

One of the more interesting additions for partners and administrators is the ability to upload, install, and manage Per-Tenant Extensions (PTEs) directly from the Business Central Admin Center.

This provides another option for managing extensions and further centralizes tenant administration. Microsoft introduces this capability as part of the 28.3 update. You can read more in the What’s new in Business Central 28.3 article.

Besides the AI enhancements, Update 28.3 also includes improvements in several other areas, including:

Shopify integration, including enhanced B2B capabilities.
