Microsoft is rolling out release wave 27.0 for Dynamics 365 Business Central soon, and with it comes a set of features that will soon become mandatory. While these updates are designed to improve performance, usability, and security, they could also affect your current extensions and apps.
To avoid any surprises, it’s a good idea to enable and test these features now. You’ll find them on the Feature Management page, where you can turn them on in a sandbox environment and check for compatibility.

What’s Changing?
Here’s a quick overview of the features that will become mandatory:
- Feature: Calculate only visible FlowFields
- Feature Update: Enable multiple users to post warehouse entries at the same time
- Feature: Use optimized text search in lists
- Feature Update: Enable use of G/L currency revaluation
- Feature: Enable server certificate validation for Http requests
- Feature Update: Enable using 1099 forms to transmit the tax data to the IRS in the United States
- Feature Update: Enable use of package tracking in physical inventory orders
- Feature Update: Use new communication texts for reminder terms
- Feature Update: Auto-save with every field change
- Feature: Enables advanced navigation (not data) search capabilities by utilizing semantic similarity search on application metadata
- Feature: Optimize screen estate usage on the web
What You Should Do
- Head to the Feature Management page.
- Enable and test the features in a sandbox environment.
- Work with your Business Central partner to update any extensions or apps that might be affected.
